FINE ART PHOTOGRAPHIC PRINTS

Focus Gallery is pleased to offer stunning fine art prints of our photography in a variety of top-of-the-line finishes and substrates. We use state-of-the-art printing technology and archival materials to produce our prints, ensuring they will be unsurpassed in quality and will be cherished for generations to come. You will be amazed by the detail and clarity in our prints (which far surpasses what is displayed here on the web), and we are confident you will be blown away by the results and by the value you receive for your investment.

We offer our photographic images in two main categories:

First, we have three types of prints we call "Wall-Ready Artwork" - these come ready to hang on your walls with no additional steps required. In this group we have Canvas Gallery Wraps, Aluminum Metal Prints and Face-mounted Acrylic Prints. See below for a description of each media type and always feel free to reach out to us for additional information, recommendations, finish options, etc. - we are always happy to help!

If none of these finishes matches what you were looking for, or if you want a more traditional framed photo look, we offer what we call "Framer-Ready Artwork" - photographic prints on your choice of three different photo papers. What you will receive from us is the print alone, ready for you or your favorite framer to custom frame to your exact specifications. We offer prints on Lustre Photo Paper, Metallic Photo Paper and Watercolor Fine Art Paper. There is no difference in print cost between the different media types, but they offer you a range of look and feel in the finished image. A description of each type of paper is found below.

WALL-READY ARTWORK

CANVAS GALLERY WRAPS

Our Canvas Gallery Wraps are printed directly onto archival quality canvas with 200-year archival pigment inks. These canvases come standard with a glossy protective coating over the top (matte finish is available as a custom option). The canvas is then stretched over wooden stretcher bars and finished with a wire for hanging on your wall.

We typically use ¾” stretcher bars on smaller prints, and 1-1/2” stretcher bars on medium and large prints. We also have 2-1/2” depth bars available for custom production should you want a deep, thick print. We will produce our gallery wraps using the depth of bars we feel best fits the image unless you have a specific preference, which we would ask you to specify at the time of your order. We do have some floater frame options and other finishing options available on a custom basis – if you’d like to know more, please contact us.

ALUMINUM METAL PRINTS

Unlike all of our other print types, which are printed using pigment inks applied to the surface of the substrate, our Aluminum Prints are made using a dye sublimation process and a specially coated sheet of aluminum. Through this process, the image is actually infused into the metal, not just applied to the surface, giving these prints an amazing depth and clarity. The waterproof surface is scratch resistant and very easy to clean and disinfect. These prints are lightweight, durable, and will not yellow or fade as long as they are displayed out of direct sunlight. The panels are made from recycled materials and are 100% recyclable (not that you'll ever want to!)

Smaller prints are mounted with a Float Mount, while larger prints use a metal Inset Frame on the back, both of which are smaller than the print size. When on display, these sleek, elegant prints appear to float off the wall!

Since the edges of these thin metal panels can be dangerously sharp, we add 1/8" rounded corners on all prints unless you prefer and specify otherwise. We also have some frame and alternative display options available for these prints, so please contact us if you’d like to know more about what options are available.

FACE-MOUNTED ACRYLIC PRINTS

Our Face-mounted Acrylic Prints are the top-of-the-line print presentation we offer and they are truly remarkable. They start off as a high resolution photographic print (on your choice of Lustre or Metallic photo paper) which is then mounted to the back of a 1/8" thick sheet of top-quality polished acrylic on top and backed with a sheet of rigid aluminum composite Dibond material for stability. The finished product is essentially a frameless framed photo - a stunning, high resolution photo protected and enhanced by being mounted to museum-grade acrylic. The acrylic layer adds depth and character to these unique prints. On the back of the print we mount a French cleat hanging system to ensure easy and level installation on your wall.

We also have some frame and alternative display options available for these prints, so please contact us if you’d like to know more about what options are available.

FRAMER-READY ARTWORK - FINE ART PHOTOGRAPHIC PRINTS

Our Fine Art Photographic Prints are the finest quality prints available with today’s technology, and are produced using 200-year archival pigment inks on top-quality papers from Breathing Color. These prints are printed to the specified size, plus a white border all around to facilitate easier matting and framing by you or your favorite frame shop. These prints are carefully rolled around a sturdy tube, which is then covered and placed inside a second tube for shipping.

Please note that these prints are not top-coated or protected in any way, and can be extremely easy to damage when handled. We strongly advise that if you order a print like this, you do not handle it or remove it from its packaging at all until you take it to your favorite frame shop. Resist the urge to look at your masterpiece until you are ready to get it framed.

If you are looking to purchase a print as a gift, we suggest strongly considering one of our “wall-ready” options above, as they will be ready to hang right out of the box and will be cost competitive if not outright less expensive than custom framing. We do have some matting and framing options available on a custom basis as well, so please contact us for more information if you’d like to know what options we can give you.

Fine Art Photographic Prints are available on your choice of the following three papers. These papers have no difference in cost, but do offer significantly different textures and feel to give you some options in how the final product will present. If you are unsure of which paper is best for your needs, please contact us and we can help hone in on your goals and pick the right paper for your application.

LUSTRE PHOTO PAPER

Our Lustre photo paper prints are what you think of when you imagine a photographic print – a smooth, photographic paper with a very slightly pebbled texture. This is our default photographic paper and handles nearly every type of image well and will have a standard photo look and feel. We use a top-shelf photographic paper and strongly recommend this paper if you are unsure of which paper to choose – these are the safe, standard choice for a photographic print.

METALLIC PHOTO PAPER

Our Metallic photo paper prints are made using a specialty photographic paper with a metallic sheen to it. These metallic layers in the paper add depth and interest, especially in images with lots of color and contrast. This is an excellent choice for most imagery and adds a wow-factor to already great photographs.

WATERCOLOR PAPER

Our Watercolor photo paper prints are made using a thick, cotton-based fine art paper with a fair amount of texture to it. The printed image looks less like a photograph, and more like a watercolor painting when using this surface. This can cause a perceived reduction in sharpness, but gives a more painterly feel in exchange. This works well when you want a photograph that looks more like a painting and with a toothier, more textured finish.
