Red-tailed Hawk
Limited Edition Print from Original Watercolor
In some ways this is my favorite of recent paintings. The hardest part of painting wildlife is bringing them “to life” on paper, and I feel this bird looks as though it is alive and part of the living world, not just paint on paper. The background was inspired by the native little bluestem grass in the grassland restoration project of the Grand Traverse Regional Land Conservancy on Keillor Road in northern Manistee County. This bird is another one of the raptors that came in to bait.
The original has been sold, but this image is available as a Limited Edition Print. See below for more information.
